With our own baby arriving very soon, we have been scouring the internet looking for fun and new ideas for the nursery. Ikea is always the best place to go to if you aren't wanting to spend an absolute fortune........however, I find Ikea furniture can get a bit boring after a while. Therefore, we have been googling ikea 'hacks' to find exciting ways to transform normally plain ikea furniture. It is amazing what we found and we just had to share some!
The first one we found was this 'lack' shelf. A clever couple creatively fixed a clothes rail to the bottom of it to create a simple, yet attractive, wardrobe for their little bundle of joy. Like us, we don't want to spend the money on a 'kiddies' wardrobe so this is just perfect for us! Plus, newborn clothes are just soo cute that it will make a gorgeous accent piece in your nursery.

Secondly, the amazingly priced 'Rast' chest of drawers for £20 can be turned into this cute nursery addition. If you aren't finding out the gender of your baby, this neutral colour scheme would be perfect. Or, personalise it to whatever colour fits in with your scheme.

You can make funky little shelving units for you kids books, photos etc with Ikea's spice rack for only £3!! Simply paint to your colour scheme :)

The 'Raskog' kitchen trolley for £50 could be used as a handy changing storage unit and then eventually a toy/clothes storage unit. Comes in three different colours: turquoise, dark grey, and beige.

The 'Gulliver' Cot (below) for £55 can have its side detached and can be placed at two different heights. If, like me, you love the Chicco Next to Me crib but don't want to spend the £150, this is a great way to have your baby close to you but with the option of it turning into a normal cot once your baby is old enough to go into its own room. In this image, the couple have added on a fabric border to personalise it to their taste.

The final 'hack' for this article is the 'Hemnes' chest of drawer (priced at £100). By changing the door knobs and painting it to match your colour scheme, you can have a fabulous looking piece of furniture for you baby's room. This couple have used this unit as their changing table too (saving even more money).

If you head on over to Pinterest or Google and type in 'Ikea hacks nursery', you will find even more ideas for your little bundle of joy's nursery room!
Lots of Love
